August favourites

I haven't written a post in such a long time, I thought it was maybe about time I started writing again I've just had a really bad  case of writers block, but I'm back and I've decided using blogger is the best option for me as world press is just a tiny bit confusing

here is a few things I've been absolutely loving this month.

1. Charmed
I love charmed, I remember when I was a kid and I use to stay up just to watch this show as I loved the whole concept of witches and demons, I was a kid but watching this show gave me the mind set I needed to believe in magic and things that go bump in the night, since charmed is now on Netflix I started watching it again from season one and it is still as good as what it use to be.
Ī

2. NO7 matte foundation
I recently attended the no7 event, while I was there I had my skin tone matched and got my self a sample of the matte foundation, after I finished my sample I had to go and purchase the foundation it is by far one of the best foundations I have ever used I can happily say this foundation is now my no2 foundation my first is still mac.

3.Revlon skin lights
I use the Revlon skin lights to give me a nice glow over my contouring and give me the natural highlights in the place the sun would usually touch, I own the pink and golden skin lights.

4. lord and berry blusher
I received the lord and berry blusher in my birch box monthly box, the lord and berry for contouring and also for my blusher it looks 100% natural and it doesn't irritate my skin and that's exactly what I need for my sensitive skin.

5. mac velvet teddy bear lipstick.
I've had this lipstick for a while now and I love it, It is my favourite lipstick I wear this lipstick everyday as I find darker colours suit me more then bright red or pinks, I've had this a while now as you can tell from the photo below I love it, it has a great durability and it barely smudges.

6.omelette
I have been loving omelette a good ham and cheese omelette is a nice quick meal for when you just can not be bothered to cook after a long day at work its healthy and it tastes amazing I've been eating this at least once a week since I've been on my health cleanse.
7. cookies and cream protein shakes
ive been drinking one protein shake every morning and its been doing me the world of wonders I have more energy to do things and as I walk up massive stairs everyday its given my legs a amazing work over I have great legs.

hospital, toes and healing

hiya guys

I've decided I want to mix my blog up a bit you know share things that's happened to me for people in that position now or have been to have someone who has been through or done the same things so today my post is all about myyyy *drum roll please* broken toe.

for those of you who follow me on instagram, twitter, Facebook, or even know me, you must know about my toe as I'm 100% percent complaining about it and how I believe I still need a operation to have reconstruction done.

let me give you a back ground into what actually happened.
in June 2014 me and my boyfriend (matt) was play fighting and as always I got far to carried away and tried to kick him, as he moved back wards to avoid it my foot went flying into the wall and as he lent back he crushed my foot and my toe snapped, automatically I knew my toe was broken and I crumbled to the floor in fit of tears, at the time I was in a state of hysterics and matts was also freaking out as we was home alone and there was absolutely no way of getting to a hospital, you see we live in a village out side of a small town called bridgnorth located in Shropshire where busses only run Monday to Saturday and yes I broke my toe Sunday night :(.
(toe twisted 90 degrees)

matt rang a ambulance for me and even though I was screaming in agony they said there was no way they could send one out to us as it wasn't life threatening, I've always thought ambulances had to come to you if there was no form of getting to a hospital, I still to this day believe they thought I was just over exaggerating but as you can see from the pictures below and my x-rays I was not.

my boyfriend has to ring his parents to come home from a day out to take me to the hospital, which was a absolute nightmare, we went to Kidderminster A&E and when we arrived I heard the most ridiculous thing of out x-ray machines shut for the night now, there meant to be a 24 HOUR  A&E, the receptionist said to us to take a seat and a nurse would see to us in a few moments which turnt out to be a freaking hour which I understood as a little boy no older then about 6 came in with a frightening cut on his head and of course children go before any injury unless its life threatening which I completely get.

when I eventually saw the nurse she said I cant do anything as it needed a x-ray (what was the point in waiting) she referred me to Worcestershire hospital which took almost a hour to drive to by this time I was in so much pain I was almost passing out, when we arrived at the hospital they told us they had received no paper work but we had ours so it was fine we got seen to within about 30 mins, the nurse sent me for my xray and took a few details like all places do, when my x-rays came back it looked like the woman was almost crying, she looked at me and said "i have never seen a break in a toe like this before, you've broken the bone and shattered half of it , shattered the carterlidge and shattered the ligaments"
xryays

(x-ray when twisted at 90degrees)

she was in so much shock to what I had done to my foot she had to get a specialist bone doctor to examine it to see if I should be kept over night and operated on there or be sent home (I was living at home with mum and dad in London at this time) and operated on there, they decided setting it with a cast and sending me home was my best choice,
as much as my break hurt id had never felt any pain like the numbing needle I cried like a little girl.

when I went to the hospital in London I got what looked to me like a junior doctor and he said to me I didn't need a operation and it would heal fine on its own, I had my cast and crutches for about 2 month, I then went in and got given a boot my god it was a space boot, I could of walked on the moon with it, the doctor said there was a 90% chance I would get authorities in my foot and it could re-break.

almost a year later after no problems my foot has began to get a huge shooting pain running through the break and repeatedly doing it for about 15 minutes every 2 hours, tomorrow the 15/4 I have a apt to see if I need surgery to reconstruct my toe, I am adamant my toe has not healed and there is still a huge amount of damage there, you can see my bone and I also feel pain when I touch it and what feels like pins and needles.

if you like me have done something like this to your bones anywhere on your body it is always worth going to have a check up and make sure that everything has healed properly.

SNOOZY SUNDAYS WEEKLEY CATCH UP

Snoozey Sundays
weekly catch up with demi.

something new for my blog today, I've decided I want to do a weekly over view on what I've been doing and why you know just a typical catch up into the life of me.

Monday 30th march
where do I begin with my Monday oh my, its been incredible busy in work, for those who didn't know I am a apprentice pharmacy dispenser, its incredibly hard to do this job on your own and usually I work with one other lady but this week she was a away for half term with her son. Monday was ok it was the usual dispensing and having a nice chilled day

Tuesday 31st march
it was a nice chilled out day I have a good laugh with my boss on a daily basis.

Wednesday 1st April
it was so busy getting all the stock ordered sorted out I mean the boxes was ten times higher then I was so by the time I sorted that all out I was absolutely shattered.

Thursday 2nd April
the day before Easter Friday well this day was so busy for me I was contently angry because I was getting zero help within work and I was running about like a headless chicken I had to go to the doctors surgery to collect prescriptions three time with 2 hours apart from each other I was god damn annoyed I hate that when I'm alone I don't get any help I'm excepted to do everything alone and its tiring but I do enjoy the tasks I have thrown at me they make me happy and excited about learning new things.

Friday 3rd April
seeing as it was bank holiday Friday I decided I would go into the town, bridgnorth and get my self some bits and bobs I needed, I went in town on my own due to the boyfriend being incredibly sick all week which sucks, but I got my self some new makeup brushes, and other random bits I needed and of course some medication for the boyfriend, you know what boys are like they get a cold and its man flu lol

Saturday 4th April

ooooooo Saturday was a amazing day we didn't wake up till about 11 so the morning was lost but by the time we ate and showered and decided what we was doing for the rest of the day it was already 2pm and the bfs family had decided to come round so we spent a hour with them and the we went and saw fast and furious 7, which was absolutely incredible, we was both really weary of how the film would turn out seeing as Paul walker had died last year due to a driving accident. but it was amazing the effects and the technique gone into making his brother (who took over the role for Paul) look like Paul was just incredible you couldn't tell them apart, I honestly thought it was a twin or something.
at the end of the movie they do a little tribute to Paul to show how much he truly meant to everyone and it touched everyone's heart, the speech given at the end is absolutely heart breaking it brought tears to our eyes.
we then went out for a meal in the Bandon  pub which serves a incredibly mean steak its beautiful.
I had a 10oz steak with chips and peas the boyfriend had a mixed grill dear me it was huge he had to stop half way through to eat it.

Sunday 5th April
just a snozzy lazy Sunday full of eating Easter eggs and sleeping hahah.

Whats in my everyday work bag

whats in my everyday work bag
Hello my beautiful readers,

 First of all my bag,
I haven't done this post in a very long time so I've decided its time I done another as the seasons are changing which means my bag will be as well.
its a black faux (fake) crocodile skin bag which I purchased from eBay for £9.00, when I saw this bag I just new it had to be mine as it looks very cute and very girly rocker.
but obviously buying things from eBay you've got to be weary and know what's going on when you buy as some people describe items as incredible quality but they can be extremely bad, but I've been really lucky and never had a item I've always brought beautiful quality items.
the bag doesn't haven't a large amount f pockets there's only three pockets but it makes up for the lose of pockets by having a large space within the bag.
also on my bag there is a badge this badge is a great deal to everyone who comes from Islington London, even though I'm not longer living in London I will show and fight for the justice that henry hicks will get for his death, he was taken away from everyone far to soon at just 18 years of age he was harassed  for 3 years by police, and sadly passed away a week before Christmas 2014 in a police chase that was not provoked and was in unmarked cars with no sirens. we will not stop fighting to get justice for him he was a lovely lad with a incredible future ahead and it was taken away far to soon, I never got the honour of knowing the person he became , but I did have the honour to know him as a young child and he was such a kind hearted and loving individual.

Lets begin.
when it comes to my bag I don't exactly have a typical amount of stuff I don't carry loads of makeup round with me, just a few items,
I always carry round a red note bag which fits perfectly in my bag, I carry this around with me for when inspiration hits and I need to jot down the notes and ideas I have for my blog.

Headphones, lighter, hand lotions, I always have my headphones in my bag you will never see me without my headphones, a lighter is for when I need it to light candles in work or at home, I carry two types of lotions around with me, one is for my eczema and dermatitis  and the other is for general use.
next item within my bag is my tablet, I adore carrying my tablet around with me as it has my books saved on it and also has the blogger app so if inspiration hits I can jot down ideas, currently I'm reading thirteen reasons why. my next book is paper towns.
my little blue bag, instead of carrying a makeup bag around with me I carry I carry this little blue Anna sui bag around with me the contents of this little blue bag are, ANNA SUI, SUI DREAMS PERFUME, A COMB A MAKEUP REVOLUTION MIRROR AND WHATEVER PIECES OF MAKEUP I NEED THROUGH OUT THE DAY.

my purse is a beautiful blue and cupcake pint its from lydc London and I got it last year for my birthday, I adore this purse as its not your usual type of purse you'd find in a girls handbag, it just a normal purse with a unique twist of cupcakes perfect for me, as in not really a colour sort of girl.
enjoy nosing through my bag and my blog posts

moving

hey everyone
its not my usual type of posts today but I wanted to talk about my big move from London to Shropshire it was such a massive change me for me staring in a new place only knowing one person (my boyfriend ) I wanted to write this post for the people out there who also like me have made a massive change for either themselves or the one they love.

after being with matt for over a year doing the whole long distance thing we decided it was time to live together seeing as when I wasn't working I was pretty much living here anyway, so after our first holiday to Ibiza together we took the step and moved in.
(photos are from the web)

when I moved down here at first (for 5 months) it was really hard I couldn't get a job anywhere, I didn't know anyone, have any friends and was so far away from my family it was killing me inside. you see I'm the type of person who, as soon as I left school I was working a week later and spent so much time with my brother and family.

as I was really struggling to find a job I decided it maybe the best idea if I signed up to the apprenticeship program with a collage as I thought it maybe the best idea for me as I wasn't having the best of luck with finding a job at all and, I'm so happy I signed up to the program as I have such a amazing job that I am so good at, my job title is apprentice pharmacy dispenser.

after sadly devolving social anxiety from being in a house for 5 months with no interaction from another people apart from matt and his family I was terrified of going to interviews for a job but when this pharmacy job came up I forced myself to stand out and be the best I could to get this job to help me get out of this stupid funk I was in I needed to get my life together and start making a career for myself for the future, this apprenticeship opens up a incredible amount of opportunity's for me as level 2 gives me a health care qualification in which I then either go on and do level three and become a pharmacy technician or I can continue on with something different, seeing as I've only ever done hairdressing I thought it would be incredibly hard as it takes a lot of patients and concentration but it turns out I'm REALLY good at it.

now I've been working in this job for almost three months I feel a lot my settled unlike before I was on edge and scared to leave the house. But now I'm happy and loving my life right now I have a great boyfriend who looks after me and treats me great, and loving family who have supported me within my move, and a great little team that I work with at work who I am really close with and who understands I am crazy and moody and lovable.

I've made a few friends while I've been up here who are absolutely amazing and friendly it may not be as many as I had back home in London but when you get older you don't need a lot of friends you just need those few friends who you connected with and who invite you into there little circles.

for anyone intrested in a apprenticeship anywhere within the uk here is the link:

for anyone interested in Shropshire or the midlands
head to Birmingham metropolitan collage or a local collage that offers apprenticeships

sculpt and contour review

make up revolution contour, highlight and blush

recently I discovered makeup revolution, its a newish brand out and incredible prices as low as £1.00, I've read and heard amazing things about this particular brand of makeup such as it being amazing pricing, durability and most of all INCREDIBLE dupes for mac and sleek makeup.

now I've always had that goodness and the annoyingness of having a December birthday, now everyone can obviously see why having a December birthday would be frustrating. I have to wait a whole year for my birthday and Christmas, but, its also amazing because its that time of year where all the makeup and beauty gift boxes come out so I have a great selection of make up every year.
and this birthday (last year)I was lucky enough to get my hand on one of the makeup revolution Christmas gift boxes, I absolutely loved it came with such amazing items such as blusher, eyeliner, bronzer, nail vanish and lip glosses, but this post is all about the sculpt and contour kit.

The sculpt and contour kit comes with three different powders, a bronzer (brown), blusher(pinkish) and a highlighter (white).
on the make up revolution web page there description is written as follows:

"Achieve SCULPTED & CONTOURED Professional Excellence
Our amazing kit provides everything you need for a professional sculpted and contoured finish. This Multi-tasking Handbag Favourite does everything, to be used Together to shape, or individually to freshen up and brighten throughout the day.
Bronze and Blush Powders to achieve a precise contour, and new shades of our amazing HIGHLIGHTERS to finish by BRIGHTENING and illuminating"

the above text is written on the makeup revolution website and I can 100% agree with everything they say. at first the contour kit was a bit of a odd colour for my skin type but then I realised just how amazingly pigmented the whole makeup rev collection was, it made me realise that I was adding far to much bronzer to my brush and needed to apply it more delicate, the bronzer is rather brown but it looks amazing on and beautiful light once applied correctly.

you apply this bronzer is a down ward angel starting from the top of your checks following down the just underneath the check bone in the hollows of your checks.

the highlighter appears to be really white it you apply to much to your brush but theres a technique to applying this istead of brushing like strokes you brush the brush along really fast across the highlighter to gain some on the brush but not loads to make the skin a different colour, you apply this item to the hollows of your cheeks and to 0the none bronzed sections to give that highlighted contoured effect.

the blusher in my palette comes in a beige, pink which matches perfectly to my skin and doesn't make me looked washed out due to my irritable skin tone of pale and beige, its very tricky to match them u, but I've found a great item which works with the tone of the skin.

The 30 second instant tan

Heyyy everyone,

I've never been a girl to enjoy fake tan or have the urge to stay tanned all year round, but recently ive discovered that i look incredibly healthy with lovely glowing tan.
Now as I've only just really came into the tanning sensation i don't really know much about tan or about the products out there which are great to use.

(£1.00 tan from bridgnorth)

I work in a chemist (pharmacy, drugstore) in bridgnorth and we sell alot of products ranging from over the counter medication, shampoo, diet and weight loss and fake tan.

We sell two ranges of fake tan, exfoliating tan and 30 second instant tan, when i found out about this tan i had to instantly just buy it just to give it ago and see how the tan worked.  but the most amazing thing about this tan is that its £1.00.

This tan say to make sure you skin is clean, dry and exfoliated extremely well.

When i first applies this foam tan i thought well its not really doing anything to my skin what a joke but,  this tan takes 30 seconds to apply and is streak free, but it takes  20 mins to a hour to devolope on the skin, but when it does devolope it looks like such a natural tan and looks absolutely beautiful.
The bottle states thats you can apply gradually to gain a dark tan, i applied 3 applications to get a darker skin tone as I've started to recently use tan i like to look like i actually have a tan instead of looking pale like i usually do.

When i saw the expose tan i aromatically was skeletal as its a £1 you think hmmm somthing isn't right it seems to good to be true, but i was so wrong i haven't found a fault with this product, it hasn't left me with dry skin or given me a rash or allergic reaction, but not everyones skin is the same so obviously if you are going to be using this item always preform a skin test in a area that doesn't receive much sun light.

Before tan.

After tan.

bare all!!!

Hey guys,
everyone knows some/ most girls on this planet wear makeup and some girls when they are not wearing make up feel very self conscious about them self, I myself am one of those girls, I wont leave the house without makeup mostly my eyes.
ive asked four lovely bloggers to be a apart of my bare all post and to tell you(the readers how they feel with out make up. to kick start it off is myself.

Demi malcolm/21
When I have no make up on I feel incredibly unlike myself, you see I have the most horrible birthmark in the most awful place, the end of my nose, I feel ugly and stupid when I don't have anything on my face due to this and also due to my scars just below my lips, I also have tiny eyes so when I have makeup on I can make my eyes look bigger and fuller, make up to me is amazing as it helps me hide the imperfects I can't get rid of.

 Tori harrison/19
I feel odd without make-up as I have a really uneven skin tone, as I broke my nose a little while ago  I feel like make-up can help disguise the curve especially with contouring!. I feel more confident with make-up on as my skin looks so much better and is actually all one tone, but I like how my skin feels without make up on.  I'm a lot less confident and I wouldn't feel comfortable going outside.

Sarah jack/23
  http://everythingyoudontneedtoknowaboutsarah.blogspot.co.uk/?m=1
Like 90% of girls, I rarely leave the house without make up, even if its just to do the weekly shop! Sounds bad I know but we're all like it lets be honest. Without make up the confidence isn't there, I don't feel the way I do with make up. It may seem something small but make up gives me that confidence and makes me feel happier and ready to face the world. But its not only that - I love experimenting with new products, its fun and I love the feeling of finding something new that I love or that changes my whole look. Make up can do incredible things to a girl, things guys would never understand!

Alaina bywater/21

When I don't wear make up, I feel exposed. I literally don't feel like myself. I have to at least wear eyeliner if I'm going out somewhere for instance the shop. My skin isn't too bad I get occasional breakouts where I will have to wear foundation but the majority of the time my skin is ok. I have inherited dark circles under my eyes which cannot be covered by make up but some concealers make them less prominent. When I have make up on I feel confident and more like myself. If I feel particularly bad about how I look then make up can make me feel slightly better about myself. Over time I have started to wear less make up but I don't think I could ever go without wearing eyeliner!

kristy colclough/22
It's so strange to think about how different makeup can make someone feel and sometimes I didn't feel so naked without it. In my picture where I am wearing no make up you can see that I have quite pale skin, which I actually don't mind too much as it's part of who I am. What I do hate is how many blemishes I have, and that I have naturally rosy cheeks... Just not in the right places. I find that without make up I always look blotchy and red in the face. The other thing I hate are my eyes as without makeup I feel as though they are unnoticeable. I have really small eyelashes that have no natural volume and without eyeliner to define my eyes I feel that they look really small and tired. I do actually leave the house without makeup at times but I do feel as though people think I haven't made an effort or in don't care about my appearance, which is simply not the case.
I absolutely love makeup and beauty and have for as long as I can remember. When I am wearing makeup I have to admit I feel a lot better in myself, especially getting compliments on my makeup or someone tells me that I look nice. I love putting makeup on an trying new techniques and when I am wearing makeup I feel a lot more confident, even if I am trying to recreate a natural look. There is something about it that makes me feel amazing. As you can tell in the picture the look is quite natural, which I like, but there is nothing I enjoy more than a full face of makeup for a night out or special occasion and I love getting ready just as much as I like going out :).
I don't think makeup makes people look better at all as people are beautiful with or without makeup. What I do understand is how it can make someone feel better about themselves and make someone who they are.

"showing out those party eyes "

"showing out those party eyes"

I've been wanting to test out makeup revolution for such a long time, but i couldn't find a superdrug store that stocked them. Untill i came home to london and the store in located 5 minutes from my house happened to sell them, so i treated my self to 2 of the gift boxes they had.

I am so happy with the items i received within the boxes and after almost a month of testing them out im extremely happy to say THIS BRAND IS INCREDIBLE.

This review is all about the makeup revolution "showing out" eyeshadow pallet, on the back of the gift set this pallete came in it says "the exclusive eyeshadow pallete" so according to my box its a exclusive pallet.
The pallete comes in quite standard packaging which i prefer, if the packaging is too bold it takes your attention away from the actual products inside.
The packaging is a black plastic container, a see through lid and the writing "make up revolution" in gold.

yes the packaging is dirty I like to test products
before reviewing and I'm not a photo hoarder
Within the packaging you have a double sided eyeshadow brush with 2 pads on either side, the brush is also black and contains the writing makeup revolution in gold.

You have 12 eye shadow within the packaging, the colours are absolutely stunning and incredibly pigmented.

Most of the eyeshadows are crazily pigmented, but a few of them are very light and doesn't have much pigment within, so when applying you hace to use a bit more then normal to make it noticeable.
The colours which are NOT very pigmented are white, off white baby pink, baby pink, and metallic silver. Its only 4 out of the 12 that have low pigmentation.

this pallet is amazing I'm so glad I brought this pallet as my first, my favourite colour in this pallet is the gold its just so pretty and shiny it just looks incredible on with a pair of beautiful false lashes to compliment the colour of eye shadow.

I don't know if anyone else has tried this out but OMG you need to I've fallen in love with this pallet so would you.

Real techniques limited edition

Real techniques
If you follow my Instagram or twitter you would know that my most favourite make up brushes are the real techniques by Samantha chapman.
these brushes was created by a professional makeup artist who wanted to create affordable, high-end  brushes that you can buy in such stores as boots and Superdrug's.
I for Christmas I got 5 more real techniques brushes I have a huge collection already but I really wanted the limited edition cuts so my dad,
(he was in charge of buying gifts this year due to my mother working)
went and brought me them after searching for while as most dads do not know anything about makeup let alone makeup brushes.
the brushes come in a square black box with a see through lid, within the box there is 5 brushes placed very carefully in a foam square shape, the foam has a array of colours on the box ranging from purple, pink and orange in a few cool patterns.
on the back of the box you have a description of Samantha chapman and what the five brushes in the box do and what ones are the special cuts.

The brushes that come in the box are....

  • duo-fiber face brush: for lightweight application + blending of face powder or pigments
  • cheek brush (set exclusive): evenly applies makeup across cheekbone for a more dramatic finish
  • angled shadow brush (set exclusive): perfectly cut for layering eye shadow in the crease
  • base shadow brush: applies a smooth, flawless foundation of colour
  • eyeliner brush (set exclusive): firm, angled head for optimal control along lash line

  • I haven't used every brush in this collection yet as there so beautiful and I would hate to ruin them (yes I know you buy makeup brushes to use)
the brushes I have used are
    1.eyeliner brush
    2.duo-fiber
    3.blusher brush
these brushes have been amazing and I can't wait to use the rest of them to see how much they make a difference to a everyday makeup routine.
Once my brushes have been used more ill post a review about them.
